The Symbolism of Sasquatch

Sasquatch holds a special place in the stories and traditions of various Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Depending on the Nation and cultural context, Sasquatch may be understood as a mysterious forest being associated with the wilderness, spiritual presence, respect for nature, and the unknown.

Beyond its familiar role in modern Bigfoot folklore, Sasquatch has cultural meanings that deserve recognition and respect. The significance of Colby Gates's Spirit Sasquatch design is best understood through the artist's own perspective.
