John Steiner’s small wood votive candles showcase his careful attention to detail and deep appreciation for the feel of finely finished wood. Each piece is thoughtfully shaped and meticulously hand-sanded, a multi-step process that gradually refines the surface until it becomes exceptionally smooth to the touch.

This process often referred to as progressive hand sanding is followed by a hand-rubbed oil finish, which enhances the natural grain and brings out the warmth and depth of the wood. The result is a soft, silky surface that feels as good in your hands as it looks on display.

Crafted from a mix of woods such as walnut, maple, myrtlewood, alder, oak, and purple heart, each votive is one of a kind. Subtle variations in color and grain make every piece unique.
